Join us as local congregations, pastors, and community members set out for a walk and a unique Good Friday experience. We will walk from Edgewater Park to Chapel on the Hill-A Community Church, stopping eight times to observe a modified Stations of the Cross, remembering the journey of Jesus from his sentencing to his death on the cross. More than a recounting of the events of the past, we will pray, read Scripture, and worship God, enacting a two-fold confession: first, life is sometimes dark, painful, and brings endings; and second, Christ has not abandoned us in the darkness, instead shines a light and brings new life! The walk begins at 9:30 a.m. at Edgewater Park by the Veterans Memorial, but carpooling is available at Chapel on the Hill at 9:00 a.m. Water bottles will be provided for Cross-Walkers. This event will be held, rain, snow or shine. Those who are unable to make the walk are invited to join those who will be following in several cars. At the conclusion of the walk, refreshments will be offered at Chapel on the Hill, as Cross-Walkers make their way to their respective observances of Good Friday at the various local churches.
