Jim Hendricks
September 7th - 7:00 pm
As a young child, Pianist Jim Hendricks had an uncanny ability to play and memorize anything he heard on records and transcribe by ear complex harmonies and melodies – without the use of a piano. Jim continued intensive musical studies and was considered a professional as a teenager.
After high school, Jim performed with such legends as Dave Brubeck (piano duets), Della Reese, Rita Moreno, Tito Puente, Maynard Ferguson, Jack Jones, Louie Bellson, Clark Terry, Arturo Sandoval, John Davidson, Jon Faddis, and many others. He was a featured soloist performing the piano music of Rachmaninoff and was granted a music professorship by the age of 25.
While he was on tour with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Jim felt a very strong call from the Lord to use his musical gifts for the glory of God. Since then, Jim has performed more than 1,300 Christian piano concerts in churches all across the land. He has made fourteen piano recordings, performed on ABC, CBS, TBN and PAX, authored the book Contemporary Arrangements for Today’s Church Pianist, and been featured in Clavier piano journal. The Lord has greatly blessed his decision to bring glory to Christ through music.
alleluia quartet
September 21st - 7:00 pm
The Alleluia Quartet has been presenting its unique style of four-part harmony to listeners in Illinois and Wisconsin for more than thirty years. Their music includes traditional, contemporary, gospel and country Christian and inspirational songs. Appearances include Rockford’s On The Waterfront, Winnebago County Fair, Harmony For Hunger Concert, Kiwanis Brat Days and many more. The group has recently appeared as an opening act for nationally known Southern Gospel groups such as The Triumphant Quartet, Brian Free and Assurance, and Karen Peck and New River. The quartet began singing together in the early 80’s as members of the Beth Eden United Methodist Church choir under the leadership of Shirley Ann Tudor. After realizing that their voice ranges and blend was “more than coincidence”, the Alleluia Quartet was formed. The name was taken from the first song that they sang together.
After several years, the group decided to expand their ministry by recording five projects: New Beginnings, Celebrate the Child - A Christmas Collection, Every Road, Labor of Love and He Is Our Song.
T Sisters
September 29th - 7:00 pm
The T Sisters are a genuine sister group based in the creative hub of Oakland, California. The group is made up of Erika (guitar, vocals), Rachel (guitar, banjo, vocals) and Chloe Tietjen (percussion, vocals). Distinguished by close harmonies, catchy melodies and potent lyricism, the T Sisters’ sound represents a continuum of music: from traditional to pop influences, moments of breathtaking a cappella to swells of energetic indie Americana. The sisters' contemporary yet classic sound invites a range of likenesses, from the Andrews Sisters and the Pointer Sisters to modern family bands like the Avett Brothers and First Aid Kit. With their soaring sibling harmonies, sassy stage presence, and inventive songwriting, these three sisters embody a fresh and soulful take on folk/Americana music.
"An irresistibly joyful sibling combo steeped in American roots music.”
